Here we are closing out another year. There are a few changes to the schedule to allow for holiday plans, so please pay attention to see if your regular classes are running.
We will have a small holiday shopping event on December 19th. So drop on by. We will be running a special on passes and will have gift certificates available.
If you’re ready to kickstart Yoga and wellness to start off the New Year, registration is open for a daily Sun Salutation Challenge. No need to come into the Studio, you will be able to join in from the comfort of your own home.
We thank you for continuing to support us, and wish you all the best for the holiday season.
This year feels as if it has flown by and here we are with the clocks changing and thinking about the holiday season. Needless to say, the studio will be closed on November 25th and 26th in celebration of Thanksgiving.
Our holiday special will be a little different this year. Our prices will be going up on February 1st – this is our first price increase since we started – so for this year, you can load up on class passes before February. If you buy more than one, we will add additional time for them to be used.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, and hope to see you on the mat!
October is our anniversary month – Chill Yoga is entering it’s 15th year! During this time, we have had 3 different locations in downtown Lewiston, and of course, in the past year, this has expanded into multiple locations within the Central Maine area and far beyond. What we didn’t know when we opened the studio, is that we would be establishing a wonderful community of Yogis, and your dedication and commitment continues to create our ever evolving studio.
You may have noticed that we took a little hiatus with posts and newsletters for the past 2 months. There was travel and shifting plans, and so we had a lite schedule going, and now we’re all ready for a full fall schedule. We are pleased to have Rachel, Kavita and Diane teaching classes again. We are still limiting studio classes to a maximum of 5. Please register ahead of time to secure your space. Many classes will be a hybrid of Studio and Zoom, and others will just be held on Zoom.
If you ever have any questions, please let us know. (We know that this can all get a bit confusing…)
It’s July, so it’s challenge time. Attend as many classes as you can for $108, and partake in a friendly competition to see just how many you can squeeze in. Participants will also get a $5 off Yoga Outdoor events. It’s not too late to join, the fun really begins after the long weekend.
We’re excited to be entering our summer season. With so many of you and us now vaccinated, we are pleased to be bringing back more classes back in the Studio. As with so many experiences from the past year, we find ourselves keeping many of the “new” ways of doing things, because they have proven popular. Zoom is certainly convenient, and many classes are hybrid. The summer brings us options to take Yoga outside; this year Heidi will be teaching class at Crescent Beach on Taylor Pond in Auburn, and at Simard Payne Park.
Early birds may want to join Heidi for Sun Salutations at 5.30am for 20 days on Zoom. It’s a great way to start your day!
Next month, we will have our annual Yoga Sadhana. Sign up for unlimited classes from July 1st to August 2 for $108.
Another month, with a mix of regular classes, outdoor adventures and some new classes, too.
Diane is back – yay – with a new class breaking down postures, and building them back stronger. She will also be teaching on Friday, and some Saturday mornings, too.
As summer comes, look out for our annual Yoga Sadhana Challenge.
The peepers are back, the days are longer and warmer, and slowly we find ourselves moving back to a new/old normal. We have more classes back in the studio, and will continue to add, as teachers and students are getting vaccinated. And yet, we have also found many advantages to having an online studio, that we know that we will continue to offer a blend of classes and a full schedule!
12 months ago, all of our lives abruptly shifted as we adjusted to living through a pandemic. We honestly thought we would be back to normal within a few weeks, and yet, here we are a full year on, with a sense that our old normal is coming into view.
And yet, we’ve changed, and the old normal isn’t going to be the same. We naively thought, we’d be teaching on Zoom for a few weeks and then be back in the studio with the same routine. Surprisingly, our old concept of the studio has changed. And we like it – and you like it, too!
As we move closer to the old normal, you can expect to see more hybrid classes – studio and Zoom. More outdoor offerings of yoga and hiking; these have proven to be very popular. Your teacher may live way up in Northern Maine – Kimberly, in Boston – Kate, or occasionally, Tennessee – Aly. You may be joined by students from out of town, out of State, and even out of the country. You may join us for shorter classes; not long enough to make a trip into the studio worthwhile, but perfect to keep your practice going. You will mostly be in a live class, but we also have pre-recorded ones available, too. We also hosted a teacher training program, and 8 students graduated last month.
We have welcomed all your suggestions and support, as we’ve shifted from a traditional studio based Yoga studio into a new model. We’re excited for the year ahead!
Our latest schedule is here – and one big difference from last year is no snow days! We might be surrounded by the white stuff, but classes are still on. You can enjoy classes from the comfort of your own homes. We also have a few food theme workshops on Zoom, and if you really do want to get outdoors, then there are still some places on a hike/snowshoe excursion.
Last months, Sun Salutation challenge was a success, and there is another opportunity to sign up for the next one. All the details can be found here
We made it – made it to the end of 2020, and our first glimpses into the New Year show that this year is likely to be equally as challenging. It’s very easy to get swept up into the drama that is happening in the outside world, and the adjustments that we need to make to live through it. Just being able to give yourself the time and space to focus on yourselves, to realize the peace that lies within yourselves at all times. Yoga offers a portal into a quieter state of mind; offering up resilience to face the outer world challenges.
So here we are, January, a great time to start back up if you’ve taken a break. Heidi is offering a 30 day Sun Salutation challenge which is the perfect kickstart into practice. We have more Yin and Restorative Yoga classes if you just need to recharge. Our outdoor hike and yoga are a safe way to get out and be in company.
And as always, we are so very thankful for all of our students who share in our community.
