Saturday November 2nd: The Healing Power of Meditation

When you think of meditation, do you picture a passive spiritual practice that takes decades to show benefit? Think again. Today, leading health professionals and educators are prescribing meditation for everything from chronic pain to cancer prevention. Studies have shown that if you meditate for half an hour daily, you will be able to face life with peace and inner strength. Meditation is the most powerful mental and nerve tonic available today. Now imagine combining meditation science with evidence-based
nutritional, breathing and relaxation techniques. Dr. Susan Taylor did.
The Healing Power of Meditation will do for your mind what yoga does for your body. More than just a theoretical study you will gain: skills to digest undesired emotions that bind the heart; practical pointers for bringing meditation into your professional activities; keys to furthering your personal meditation training; and the fundamental principles of healing through traditional yoga meditation. You’ll practice the meditation sequence and master the five steps to bring mindfulness into focus to disengage from matters that bind the heart.
Program Objectives
-Fundamental principles of healing through evidence-based meditation
-Lifestyle solutions to bring your life into meditation
-Meditation and mental health- the evidence
-Keys to beginning and/or furthering your current practice
-Breathing, relaxation and evidence-based meditation practices to bring energy yet calm to your entire being
