Tavia Melhus

Class Types: Pilates

Tavia is both a teacher and lifelong student of Pilates, with a passion for helping people of all abilities—especially those with special conditions—find strength, balance, and resilience through movement. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nutrition Studies to further support others on their wellness journey. Having faced her own health challenges, Tavia has leaned on Pilates and Yoga since 2015 to restore balance and improve her quality of life, giving her a deep understanding of how movement can be both healing and empowering.

With a background in teaching and non-profit work, Tavia’s “why” has always been centered on helping others. Her unique combination of lived experience, formal training in both Classical and Contemporary Pilates, and specialized skill set allows her to create sustainable, supportive, and uplifting classes for students at every level.

She lives in Western Maine with her husband, John, and their three dogs: Remington, a Golden Retriever and service dog in training; Finnick, another playful Golden; and Kayli, their beloved senior Corgi.
