Schedule, Events & Teacher Training

It’s hard to believe that we have a year, indeed, a whole decade has passed by… Chill is officially into it’s 2nd decade! Our schedule is full and varied. There are many reasons that people look to bring Yoga into their lives – and what it means to them. For some people, it’s casual – it’s attending a class occasionally or semi regularly. For others, it’s several classes per week, or an adjunct to a solid home practice. We really don’t mind which camp any of our students fall into – our goal is to provide a place which meets you wherever you are. And if you ever have any questions, about this, then we’re always happy to discuss this with you. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to Yoga, us or been with us for a long time.

If you’re looking for more, then you maybe interested in attending a workshop or an event. These are great ways to deepen your experience of Yoga, and add elements to your practice.

And we’re pleased to be offering a 200 hour Teacher Training at Chill this year. You do not have to have an intention to teach to do this. We repeat you do not have to have an intention to teach…. The 200 hour is a wonderful immersion into the broader experience of Yoga. If you want to develop a practice, or have always had an interest in the Sutras, in anatomy, in Ayurveda, in self development, then this is for you.

So back to where we started – if you’re interested in Yoga casually, socially or seriously, we’re here to meet you wherever you are at.

Saturday November 2nd: The Healing Power of Meditation

When you think of meditation, do you picture a passive spiritual practice that takes decades to show benefit? Think again. Today, leading health professionals and educators are prescribing meditation for everything from chronic pain to cancer prevention. Studies have shown that if you meditate for half an hour daily, you will be able to face life with peace and inner strength. Meditation is the most powerful mental and nerve tonic available today. Now imagine combining meditation science with evidence-based
nutritional, breathing and relaxation techniques. Dr. Susan Taylor did.
The Healing Power of Meditation will do for your mind what yoga does for your body. More than just a theoretical study you will gain: skills to digest undesired emotions that bind the heart; practical pointers for bringing meditation into your professional activities; keys to furthering your personal meditation training; and the fundamental principles of healing through traditional yoga meditation. You’ll practice the meditation sequence and master the five steps to bring mindfulness into focus to disengage from matters that bind the heart.

Program Objectives
-Fundamental principles of healing through evidence-based meditation
-Lifestyle solutions to bring your life into meditation
-Meditation and mental health- the evidence
-Keys to beginning and/or furthering your current practice
-Breathing, relaxation and evidence-based meditation practices to bring energy yet calm to your entire being

We’ve moved! After 9 years in our space above Forage Market, we are now located on the ground floor right next door. Conceptually, it all sounded so easy – we’ll get the renovations done and move in. The reality – we have acquired a lot of stuff over the years, and our new studio is much skinnier than our old one. For teachers and students, we are all adjusting to our new home, as we fine tune the use of the space. It’s a good reminder of all of our Yogic lessons in detachment!

Our Big News… We’ll be moving to 182 Lisbon Street!

After 9 years in our studio located above Forage, we’re making the move to a first floor space immediately next door. The new space is currently being renovated, and will give us superior access and more room. We’re very excited and anticipate that we’ll be ready to make the big move by mid-late September.

As we move into fall, many new classes are coming back onto the schedule during the course of this month. It’s a good time to get back into a post summer routine and put self-care back on the list. We always recommend regular classes, but if you’re looking for something more – we have Julie’s Equinox Yoga Nidra for deep relaxation, Heidi’s Ayurveda training which focuses on food this month and Nerys’s Resistance Stretch workshop for happier and healthier body.

If you have any questions at all about any of our classes or workshops, do get in touch.
