Yin Yoga & Meditation

April 1, 2018

Teacher: Kimberly

Level: I/II

Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Give yourself time to slow down into stillness. Yin yoga is the opportunity to let your muscles relax and bring healing into the connective tissue and joints. Yin yoga is a blend of yoga postures, the meridian system from Traditional Chinese Medicine and the stillness practice of Buddhism. This class creates a balance for those that practice more vigorous forms of yoga, for those that suffer from joint pain, and for those that are willing to go deep. Suitable for beginners to more experienced practitioners.

This is an ongoing class which breaks for the month of August.

In this class, we will explore a uniques series of self-stretches that will develop your range of movement in all ways:

  • If you struggle with joint issues, aches and pains, this might help clear that up.
  • If you have felt stuck in either yoga poses or other training, this might help you get off of the plateau.
  • If you are interested in learning more about fascia and the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine, then this is a good way to begin to experience them directly.

It’s truly a wonderful system and compliments any yoga practice, athletic training, bodyworker self-care, and simply can be used to just know how to stretch effectively while learning bouat your own body. Class is open and suitable for all ages and abilities.

All Levels Ashtanga

April 1, 2018

Teacher: Nerys

Level: I/II

Time: 9:15am – 10:15am

This Bikram Style Hot Yoga class is a series of simple Hatha Yoga postures done in a heated room (Temperature gets to 80 degrees). The heat allows for a deeper range of motion and is cleansing and detoxifying. Every class follows a set series of poses working through the entire body. While the postures are simple, the heat and sequence make it an intense workout that increases cardiovascular stamina. The emphasis is on breathing and proper alignment. The repeated sequence provides continuing students a chance to catch changes and nuances in their practice. Designed for all levels of practice. I suggest bringing a water bottle to class. Be prepared to sweat! A change of clothes is also recommended.

This is an ongoing class.
